Nearly one in every five people, or 42.5 million American adults, has a diagnosable mental health condition; half of all lifetime cases of mental disorders begin by age 14. Not every young person in psychological distress has a mental health diagnosis;however,every young person will fall along a continuum of good mental health and mental illness. With this said, the more knowledgeable people are about mental health disorders common in youth, early identification, appropriate supports and early intervention are more likely to occur. Join us as we explore youth mental health from a prevention lens.
