Description:

Asperger's Syndrome is a recently recognized neurobiological disorder. People with AS experience difficuly understanding social cues. They make blunt or inappropriate comments, and have the potential to alienate colleagues with quirky behavior about areas of personal interests. Learners will be able to identify strategies to assist individuals with AS in understanding and handling the nuances of routine workplace social interactions;monitor work related commmunications; analyze the "unique" culture of each workplace and identify the types of social competencies that would be most helpful for the individual with AS to acquire in order to successfully navigate the work environment.
