Description:

Asperger's Syndrome is a recently recognized neurobiological disorder. People with Asperger's Syndrome have a hard time understanding and responding to social cues. They make blunt or inappropriate comments, alienate colleagues with quirky behavior about areas of personal interests. Learners will be able to identify strategeis to assist individuals with AS in understanding and handling the nuances of routine workplace social interactions; monitor work-related communications; analyze the "unique" culture of each each workplace and identify the types of social competencies that would be most helpful for the individual with AS to acquire in order to successfully navigate the work environment.
