Date and time: Thu, 08/19/2021 - 11:30am to 12:30pm
Description:

“Great leaders choose their leadership style like a golfer chooses his or her club - with a calculated analysis of the matter at hand, the end goal, and the best tool for the job”.  – Robyn Benincasa

Too often new managers apply a ‘one-size fits all’ approach to managing members of their team.Because we are humans we are not all motivated, inspired, encouraged or course-corrected by the same intervention. What works for one employee may backfire completely for another.Second, the situation and the response time that is available matters as well.A good leader knows that the right leadership approach is based on the people, the tasks and the situation to be managed.

At the completion of this training, learners will have an understanding of:

  • The common leadership styles and their characteristics
  • The forces than influence the leadership style to use
  • The potential problems for each style and the circumstances when they are most appropriate
  • How personality types influence leadership styles
  • Leadership approaches in action – case studies
