Strategy Matters! Systematic Instruction and Prompting Hierarchy for Job Coaches
Many students with disabilities struggle to learn job tasks in community-based work experiences, not as a result of their disability but as a result of how the instruction is delivered and what type of supports are provided. It is the role of the job coach to pave the way for success through skilled systematic instruction and a prompting hierarchy that aligns with the ability of each student to complete each task correctly. Participants will learn the prompting hierachy from least to most support and be able to identify the relationship between the student and the work environment to ensure vocational success.
