Say Hello to Your World: An Interactive Session for Individuals with Disabilities to Experience the Joys of Living, Working and Embracing One's Community
Individuals with disabilities belong to communities, not systems. "Life Happens" for all of us when we are interacting with people, places and things in our world. An individual's healthy state of well-being is developed by one's ability to realize his or her own abilities, be able to cope with the normal stressors of life, to have opportunity to work collaboratively with others, and be able to make contributions to his or her community. This does not happen in isolation.
Join us a we take individuals with disabilities on a journey of community exploration. Training participants will engage in community mapping activities that will encourage community connections, provide community navigation techniques and create opportunities to build relationships and find joy in belonging.
