From Buddy to Boss
Soon after the celebration of an earned promotion to supervisor concludes the reality sets in. You are now in charge of managing people, processes and outcomes. If your promotion is internal, your role in the morning coffee klatch will surely change and relationships as they once were will transition too. It is the transition of relationships that proves to be one of the most difficult challenges for new supervisors, especially if you are supervising someone who was once a peer. During this two-hour session participants will learn:
- How to make the transition from individual contributor to supervisor / manager
- What employees want and expect from a supervisor / manager – roles and expectations
- Common mistakes and keys to success for new supervisors / managers
- The difference between being a manager and a leader
