Description:

The Employment Specialist training is based on the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) competencies.  These are evidence-based competencies that an Employment Specialist should possess to perform quality supported employment services. The training includes pre and post assessments, 7 days of classroom instruction, structured performance employment activities (field work), onsite mentorship and supervision, along with ongoing monitoring of each Employment Specialist’s benchmarks such as number of contacts with employers, number of completed job seeker interviews, strategies used to negotiate job seeker’s characteristics, number of hours spent in “active” job development activities, etc. in order to improve the practical application of knowledge acquired within the training components.   ​Classes begin on March 7th and continue on the 14th, 21st, 28th,  April 4th, 11th and 18th - seven consecutive Wednesdays.
