Description:

Many people struggle with the idea of disclosing their disability in the workplace and for many good reasons. Disclosure involves giving out personal, medical, psychological and/or disability specific information to an employer. The thought of it can be overwhelming and scary.

The main reason to disclose a disability is to request reasonable accommodations in the workplace or for the application process; however, the employment professional should never make the mistake of assuming the individual wants to disclose. Regardless of the disability, disclosure is a personal choice.

Join us to learn the dos and don'ts of disability disclosure; the three main reasons why someone with a disability may choose to disclose to their employer and  the benifits and privileges of employment that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) affords individuals with disabilities in the workplace. The training focuses on the role of the employment professional in the disability disclosure process.
