Community Resource Mapping: A Tool for Identifying and Aligning Community Resources for Youth and Families
Community Resource Mapping, also known as Asset Mapping, is not a new strategy or process. It has been around for many years in various forms. It is a process of identifying what is available in a community and developing strategies to access the existing resources, relationships, opportunities, businesses and skill sets to benefit the needs of everyone. This training will take participants on a journey of understanding the 4 steps to community resource mapping and engage in learning each step of the process through group pre-mapping exercises. Participants will engage in the development of community resource map templates which identifies all available and potential resources within the surrounding communities. This is a hands-on outcome based training.
