Community Resource Mapping: A Tool for Identifying & Aligning Community Resources for Youth & Their Families
Community Resource Mapping, also known as Asset Mapping, is not a new strategy or process. It has been around for many years in various forms. It is a process of identifying what is available in your community and developing strategies to access the existing resources, relationships, opportunities, businesses and skill sets to benefit the needs of everyone within the community. The training will take participants on a journey of understanding the 4 Steps to Community Resource Mapping and engage in learning each step of the process through group pre-mapping exercises. Participants will engage in the development of Community Resource Map templates which will identify available and potential resources within the surrounding communities. This is a hands-on outcome based trraining.
