Part 1: Mental Health Challenges and Disorders: An Invisible Disability
Description: Mental health challenges and disorders are the leading causes of disability in the United States and Canada. A disability, caused by mental health challenges and disorders, may not be readily visible to others, therefore, youth may be negatively impacted. The lack of understanding contributes to the stigma and discrimination young people experience. This webinar will define mental health according to the World Health Organization, explore stigma and discrimination associated with mental health conditions and how this impacts a youth’s ability to access professional help.
