MAPs - Person Centered Planning for Students
MAPs (Making Action Plans) is a student centered planning tool that builds a plan based on strengths, preferences, abilities and interests. Central to person-centered planning is a circle of friends and supporters, including the student with a disability, family members, friends, peers, teachers, and other service providers. Then, in a major planning session, the team develops a comprehensive plan for the individual's future. You will also learn how to integrate the information derived from the MAP into the IEP and Career Development Plan.
