RI Cross Disability Coalition invites you to a discussion about leadership and finding your voice.  The meeting will be held at the CEA, 662 Hartford Avenue Providence, from 1:00pm-3:00pm.  Tonja Blicker-Ucran, Coordinator and Deanne Gagne, Assistant Coordinator will be moderating the meeting.  Please RSVP to either one of them at

This event will be held at Training Thru Placement, 20 Marblehead Ave in Providence, on Tuesday May 20th, 2014.  It will run from 5:30pm - 7:00pm.  Pizza and soft drinks will be provided at the start of the meeting.  Topics include benefits planning information with the Office of Rehabilitation Services and a family to family chat.   

Workshop will take place at SAVE THE BAY, 100 Save the Bay Drive, Providence, RI and will run from 8:15am - 4:00pm. Barb Jackson, Director of Workforce Performance Solutions, will speak about Advanced Manufacturing training and employment opportunties in RI.  This session will be held at the DLT main office located at 1511 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, RI. 

Special Education 580 with a focus on teaching self-determination and transition to integrated employment will run from May 19th - June 25th every Monday and Wednesday from 6pm - 9pm.  The cost is $200 and provides 3 graduate credits.  Location is at RIC.  To register go to

The National Training Center at Virginia Commonwealth University is offering the Work Incentives Counseling Initial Training program, which is based on a comprehensive set of competencies that community partner staff must acquire in order to achieve Community Partner Work Incentives Counseling Certification.  This is a five day training that will be held in Hartford and has strict participation requirements.  To learn more go to:  http://vcu-ntc.org/training/initial.cfm
