Providence, Rhode Island, October 7, 2015 -- The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is considering changing some of its fares, including a new reduced fare for lower income passengers who are elderly or have disabilities. These changes are being considered as the part of a comprehensive fare study that the Authority launched in the spring. Due to the concerns of riders, particularly those who may be impacted by the fare for seniors and people with disabilities, RIPTA is holding this meeting to provide more information on the proposed changes and also to provide information on transportation resources in Rhode Island.

RIPTA, The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) and LogistiCare representatives will be on hand to answer questions regarding transportation options for seniors, people with disabilities and Medicaid recipients.

For information on the study, please visit http://www.ripta.com/featured-project

Meetings are accessible to persons with disabilities. RIPTA will provide interpreter services for the deaf and hearing impaired, provided such a request is made at least 72 hours prior to the hearing date.
